Change processes: Governance, Leadership and Financing
While there is a lot of knowledge and research about why and what needs to be changed to achieve more sustainable and inclusive urban transportation, questions about how the transformation and implementation can be governed, by whom and with what means need more attention.
VREF has launched the two major research initiatives described as “Transforming Urban Transport – The Role of Political Leadership”, and “Financing Urban Access” with the aim of advancing understanding of change processes, and how innovative transport solutions can be facilitated, implemented and financed. Actors, processes, leadership, governance and support mechanisms are in focus in these research initiatives.
